Photographing Old Friends / Family Photo Session / Federal Hill Baltimore Maryland

When a friend from high school contacted me to take her family portraits, I was so excited. It is an honor to photograph friends, it's very flattering to know that people value and appreciate what you do. I hadn't seen Margot since probably 2003. We had both had our first babies and were very excited that we were in this new phase of our lives. Life happens and time passes and we lost touch. We reconnected through Facebook. Long story short, she asked me to take her family photos, her family that consisted of her two boys and her fiance' s three children. We decided on Federal Hill Park for the shoot. Not only is it a gorgeous backdrop for photos, but it's a park that her and the family actually go to and enjoy together. We love it when our clients pick spots that mean something to them for photos. It helps them to be more relaxed in front of the camera.

With five children coming to a photo session, I was prepare for a lot of fun, candid moments and sheer madness. Anything goes sometimes during photo shoots and we are totally okay with that. Well, we had the fun, we had the candid moments but the children all loved one another. Even though they weren't all blood relatives, they acted like family. They care for one another and their parents. It was beautiful to witness my old friend at her happiest and in her element. She is a loving mother and it's clear that her children adore her. All of them. We loved every second of this session. Enjoy their images from Federal Hill Park at the Inner Harbor.

Notice the boys in the background of this next picture. hehe Boys will be boys!

This picture was the idea of the children. I think they did a great job setting this one up.

We even had peace and quiet long enough to snap this one.....
